The Story Lady can come to your child care home or center to read a story and do related finger plays and other activities with the children in your care. The child care provider receives a book and a set of activities to do with the children. Each child also receives a book and activity ideas to take home and share with their families.
Excitement abounds when the Story lady comes to a child care home or center. Armed with a load of interesting literacy activities, the Story Lady captures children's undivided attention during the hour visit.

October 2008 - Child Care Choices' Story Lady Reads for the Record! Home care providers brought their children for a story, activities and snack in an attempt to help break the Guinness World Record for reading the same children's book on the same day! Home Care Providers also received a copy of Corduroy to take back to their homes with a packet of activities to continue the fun. Eighteen children participated in this event.  

 

Comment from a provider: "This has been such a fun and wonderful story lady visit.  Our whole family was amazed at how fast the sunflower was growing.  One seed made the transplant from cup to flower bed.  All these beautiful sunflowers are from one seed!!! WOW.  And my 2 year old planted it.  Thanks for this experience."
