KINDERGARTEN READINESS INITIATIVE

Early Learning Partnership Services

Child Care Choices serves as a bridge between families, students, schools, and child care programs. Strong partnerships are fostered to ensure opportunities and resources are available to encourage a smooth entry into kindergarten academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally. Our Program Coordinator who oversees this initiative works closely with families and care providers of preschool-age children in this capacity.

Community Partner Outreach

Child Care Choices advocates, educates, and builds awareness of best practices for children among stakeholders in our community. We recognize the barriers that many families face in accessing quality early care for their children, and are striving to reduce or eliminate those obstacles through partnerships with providers. Please reach out if you represent an organization that we should partner with to achieve this!

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment

Through our Early Learning Partnership Services, we connect providers with KRA resources, training, and community partners supporting kindergarten readiness. Ohio's Fall 2025 KRA results were the highest since tracking began in 2014! Ohio children who attended Pre-K were three times more likely to demonstrate kindergarten readiness compared to children who did not. That progress is a direct reflection of the work you do everyday. That’s your circle time, story time, and intentional conversations during snack and play. Want to see scores in your district? Results are available on the Ohio School Report Card, with a step-by-step guide for finding it.
